A Writing Prompt from “The Philosopher’s Notebook”
I believe that humans are capable of almost anything, however, to see the world objectively might not be something, as immortal self-aware beings, that can be achieved.
The world around us affects us in ways we do not fully understand, or possibly may never fully understand. With the advancements in technology and scientific research on the human condition it still seems like we have only begun to design a rocket ship that will eventually take us into great discoveries of what it means to be human. With this, being where our understanding currently sits, we don’t know how the world around us affects us, which would be necessary in order to turn your selfish view of it on and off.
In short, as of right now, no humans cannot experience the world objectively, at least while still being physically human. Through observation and deep thoughts I believe that once our biological vessel can no longer contain our conscience, our conscience will break free to the next state of being. It is there that we will be able to turn back and look upon the state we just left, and have an understanding of the world objectively in a way we couldn’t see as humans surrounded by it.
